Skin needling is a cosmetic procedure that uses a pen-like device with very fine needles that moves across the skin. This creates tiny punctures that go through the upper layer (epidermis) into the deeper layer (dermis). These tiny punctures trigger the skin's natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Over time, the increased collagen and elastin helps to rebuild and repair the skin. This can benefit the skin's texture, pore size, uneven tone, firmness and help with the appearance of scars.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE BENEFITS?

Results may be seen after even one treatment. Clients report more revitalised skin with a visible decrease in the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation or melasma, sun damage, acne scarring, enlarged pores and stretch marks. There is improved absorption of active ingredients as well as skin tightening and lifting.

WILL IT HURT?

We like to keep you comfortable during treatments – arriving 30 minutes early to have some anaesthetic cream applied will minimise any discomfort. Dermapen needling has minimal downtime. Patients can resume normal activities but may experience redness for 1 to 2 days. This is similar in appearance to sunburn or a mild graze.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

You may need between 4 to 6 treatments at 4 to 6 week intervals.
