HOW DOES THE PLASMA PEN WORK?
Our trained technicians use the Plasma Pen device to deliver a tiny plasma flash. This flash creates a small dot in the skin (the device itself does not touch the skin and there are no cuts, blood or damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers). Applied to create a symmetrical grid across the treatment area, these small dots cause a micro-trauma to the skin’s epidermal layer (top layers) whilst simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeps dermal structure via thermal conduction. This process is also known as fibroblasting. Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the body that produce collagen.
While Plasma Pen treatments are virtually painless, numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort during the procedure.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
Results will vary from person to person as each client’s skin and treatment goals are different. Variable factors to consider include your age, your skin’s elasticity, how your skin responds to the treatment as well as the size of the area being treated and the desired result. Generally, client’s will see results instantly and continue over the course of 12 weeks to 2 years.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS?
Industry testing has proven Plasma Pen treatments to be safe when performed by a certified technician. Majority of clients are only likely to experience minor side effects within the 5 to 7 days following treatment, such as tiny carbon crusts (similar to small polka dots) around the treated area. These will naturally lift and fall off. When treating the eye area, swelling is common and is to be expected for a few days. Following your technician's aftercare recommendations is crucial to avoiding serious side effects, such as hyperpigmentation.
