AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LIPODISSOLVE?

You may be a good candidate for Lipodissolve if you have localised excess fat or if you desire contouring in any of the following areas:

  • Chin

  • Upper arms

  • Back or love handles

  • Abdomen and waist

  • Hips and buttocks

  • Inner and outer thighs

  • Inner and outer knee

  • Calves and ankles

Lipodissolve should not be considered a substitute for overall weight loss and may not show any difference in actual weight even if you notice a final reduction in one or more dress sizes.

Lipodissolve is preferred on one area at a time on smaller fat areas, but can also be performed on 2-3 areas of the body at the same time.

FAQS

How will I be assessed?

Because of individual physical factors, not everyone is a candidate and will not achieve the same results from Lipodissolve and surgery may be a better option. One of our Adelaide based doctors/RNs will take into consideration your unique characteristics in determining the most effective treatment, your expectations and whether they can be realistically achieved.

Is Lipodissolve painful?

Not generally and most patients don’t experience actual pain. Areas can be numbed with ice or numbing cream before treatment if required. Some patients may experience a sensation of heat, ache, stinging, itching and soreness of varying degrees that can be managed with general pain medications. On body areas where large volumes of medications are required to dissolve the fat, the procedure can cause some aches and soreness. The pain level varies greatly from patient to patient.

When can I resume normal activities?

In most cases, you may return to work immediately. In some cases where larger areas of the face or stomach are treated, you may wish to rest or reduce activity for a day due to the excess swelling and soreness. Treatment areas to the face will swell – and is advised to take time off from work or social events for 1-2 weeks.

When will I see results?

The healing process is gradual so you should expect a waiting period of anywhere from 4-8 weeks between each session. This may vary from patient to patient, depending on your body structure and metabolism.

How will I look after treatment?

It is important to realize that the amount of time it takes for results varies greatly among individuals and often, more than one session is required for the body to process sufficient loss of fat. You will notice swelling, redness and bruising, which is to be expected.

Swelling usually begins to subside within a week following the procedure while any bruising that occurs can last two weeks or longer. There may also be numbness or a feeling of ‘nodules’ in some areas which are internal bruising. These may take several months to disappear. Patients should avoid tanning or saunas at least two weeks after each therapy.

How long do Lipodissolve results last?

The results of Lipodissolve are long-lasting and will be permanent until new weight gain has occurred.

What are the limitations?

Lipodissolve may require several sessions. Patients with thyroid problems or metabolic disorders may require more sessions than normal or see insignificant results. Patients that have adiposity combined with excess binding tissue will have fewer chances to achieve any visible results from Lipodissolve. Patients that are overly obese may not benefit from Lipodissolve.

Are there risks with Lipodissolve?

Risks are known to be very rare. As with any medical procedure and because each patient is unique, risks cannot be fully out ruled. The most plausible known risk is allergic reactions to any of the medication.
